A .43-77-380 (11mm GRAS) BOLT ACTION SINGLE-SHOT RIFLE, serial no. 31650,
circa 1877, with 32 1/2in. barrel signed near breech 'KYNOCH GUN FACTORY ASTON' with calibre designation '43-77-380', block and blade fore-sight, adjustable ladder rear-sight, action body marked 'KYNOCH'S-PATENT', bolt with straight handle, walnut three-quarter stock (refinished), iron furniture, complete with clearing rod, light staining throughout, 51 1/4in. overall, weight approximately 8 3/4lbs.

Other Notes: These rifles were essentially French Gras rifles which were bought on the surplus market by Kynoch after the Franco-Prussian war, refinished by them and sold on the civilian market. The calibre is the Imperial designation for 11mm Gras.
